Managing documents and contracts just got easier and more efficient with our new Document Expiry feature. This new capability allows you to add an expiry date to documents, after which recipients will no longer be able to sign them. This feature is designed to provide better control and enhance the document management process, ensuring that all parties are on the same page with time-sensitive agreements.

How the Document Expiry Works

  1. Global and Per-Document Expiry Setting
    You can enable document expiration either globally at the account level or per document. By default, this setting is off, allowing you to activate it when necessary.

  2. Set Expiry in Days
    Opt to specify the number of days post-sending after which a document should expire. The countdown begins the minute your document is sent, adhering to your location’s timezone to ensure precise timing.

  3. Automatic Expiry Handling
    Once a document hits its expiry date, it is automatically marked as Expired. Recipients will no longer be able to sign or complete the document, and will receive a message instructing them to contact the sender for further guidance.

  4. Dashboard View Updates
    You can now see at a glance which documents are nearing expiry or have expired with our “Expires In” column and expired status directly in the document list view.

  5. Expiry Information Displayed
    Each document clearly displays its expiry information, letting signers know how much time they have left to act.

  6. Built-In Warning Notifications
    Enable optional email and in-app reminders set to notify recipients one day before their document expires. These reminders can be customized globally or tailored per document.

  7. Customizable Reminder Emails
    Administrators have the ability to fully customize the subject line and content of expiry reminder emails, ensuring that communication maintains your brand's voice and tone.
