Create and Send Open Invoices for Failed Subscription Payments

New Feature: Create and Send Open Invoices for Failed Subscription Payments

Seamless Payment Recovery for Subscription Failures

We are excited to introduce a new functionality aimed at helping businesses effectively manage subscription payment failures. Now, when a subscription payment attempt fails with native integration payment providers, an open invoice will be automatically created and sent to the customer.

Key Benefits

  • Automatic Invoice Generation: Every time a subscription payment fails, an invoice is automatically generated and dispatched to the customer. This occurs alongside ongoing subscription payment retries, offering multiple avenues for payment completion.
  • Flexible Payment Completion: Customers can complete their payment through existing retries or by settling the invoice. Once the payment is made via the invoice, the subscription will be reactivated, assuming there are no other pending invoices.
  • Handling Limitations: These invoices operate like standard invoices. However, editing options are limited; changes cannot be made to the invoice amount, customer details, or email content as these are fixed from the subscription details.

Accessing Invoices

To find these invoices, navigate to:

Payments > Subscriptions > Subscription Details > Invoices

Supported Payment Providers

This feature is currently available with the following payment providers:

  • NMI
  • Authorize.net
  • Square

Future Developments

Upcoming enhancements will allow businesses to define and customize the email templates that accompany invoices for subscription payment failures.
