Custom date reminders can now evaluate date fields on more record types in SMBcrm workflows. This gives teams more flexibility to build date-based automation across their CRM without workarounds.

What Changed

Custom date reminders were previously limited to contact date fields in contact-based workflows. With this update, supported date fields now include:

  • Opportunity date fields in contact-based workflows
  • Custom object date fields in custom object-based workflows
  • Company date fields in company-based workflows

This makes it easier to run reminders and follow-up automations based on the record that matters most to the workflow.

How It Works

A custom date reminder trigger now checks the supported date field for the workflow type you are using.

  • In contact-based workflows, the trigger can evaluate opportunity date fields
  • In custom object-based workflows, the trigger reads date fields from that custom object
  • In company-based workflows, the trigger reads date fields from the company record

When the reminder timing matches, the workflow starts as configured.

For teams using Automation with their CRM, this expands the range of date-driven processes you can automate.

  • Create or open a workflow for contacts, custom objects, or companies
  • Add a custom date reminder trigger
  • Choose a supported date field for that workflow type
  • Set the workflow to run before, on, or after that date
