SMBcrm is thrilled to announce an improved feature for managing your appointment schedules. With our latest update, we now consider blocked slots when applying pre and post buffers for appointments. This ensures that your buffers don’t overlap with blocked slots, providing you with effective buffer times for your appointments.

Here’s what changed

Prior to this improvement, let’s consider the following scenario: if you had a 30-minute appointment with a 30-minute interval and 30-minute pre and post buffers set, and a slot from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM was blocked, the system ignored the blocked slot entirely. Consequently, your next available slot displayed would be 12:30 PM, while your previous available slot displayed would be 11:30 AM.

With this new enhancement, we’ve revamped such scheduling glitches. Now, in the same scenario, the system appropriately accommodates the 30-minute pre-buffer. Hence, your next available slot would be at 1:00 PM. It also takes into account the duration and required post-buffer for previous slots, displaying 11:00 AM as your previous available slot.

How to leverage this update?

Implementing this update is as seamless as the buffers it introduces. Just follow these simple steps:

  1. Choose the calendar for which you wish to define buffers.
  2. Navigate to the ‘Availability’ section.
  3. Specify the durations for both pre and post buffers.
  4. Click on ‘Save’.
