Strengthen Your Account Security with Authenticator App Support for Two-Factor Authentication
In our commitment to enhancing the security of your SMBcrm account, we’re introducing a new robust feature: the integration of authenticator apps for Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). This update provides you with a more secure and flexible alternative to traditional SMS and email verification methods.
What’s New with Authenticator App Integration
- Authenticator App Integration
- You can now use popular apps like Google Authenticator, Authy, and Microsoft Authenticator to generate time-based one-time passwords (TOTP) for 2FA, ensuring an extra layer of protection for your account.
- Easy Setup
- The setup process is straightforward. Just scan a QR code to link your account with your chosen authenticator app, and you’re ready to go.
- Backup & Recovery
- During the setup, you will receive backup codes to secure your access in case you lose the authenticator app, ensuring you won’t be locked out of your account.
How to Enable Authenticator App for 2FA
- Navigate to My Profile in the settings.

- Click on Setup Two-factor Authentication (2FA) App.
- Scan the QR code using any TOTP app like Google Authenticator, Authy, etc., or manually input the code into the app.

- Enter the OTP generated by the authenticator app to complete the setup.
- Safely store your backup codes to regain access if needed. If these codes are ever lost or compromised, they can be reset in your profile settings.

- On your next login, you will have the option to use the authenticator app for 2FA.

Important Notes
- Only the primary account holder can set up an authenticator app on their account. Administrators cannot set up the app for other users using the “login as” feature.
- You will receive ten backup codes at a time, with each code being valid for a single use only.
