Introducing Domain Connect Conflict Detection for Seamless Management

Introducing Domain Connect Conflict Detection

We’re excited to announce the latest enhancement to our Domain Connect feature, designed to protect your domain configurations across different product types. This new safeguard prevents any disruption that could occur when connecting a domain to a new product type. If an action could potentially disrupt an established connection, such as with Funnels or WordPress, our system will step in with a proactive block and a clear, actionable error message.

How It Works

Domain Connection Safeguards

When you attempt to connect a domain through Domain Connect, our system first checks if the domain is already associated with another product type before looking for DNS record conflicts. If such a conflict is detected, you will be stopped from proceeding. For example, if connecting a domain to a Client Portal would interfere with its Funnel setup, we will notify you instantly.

Detailed Error Messaging

The error message you receive will include:

  • The current product utilizing the domain
  • A redirect link to the domain management section, if the conflict is within the same location, for resolution
  • Troubleshooting steps to determine whether to disconnect the current product or consider using a different domain

Why This Matters

This update is crucial for users who rely on multiple product connections. By catching configuration conflicts early:

  • We prevent accidental service disruptions.
  • Support loads are reduced as users receive clearer guidance during setup.
  • Users benefit from targeted error messages and direct resolution paths, making domain management a seamless experience.

Important Highlights

  1. System-Wide Conflict Detection: Conflict checks apply across all locations, not just the one you are currently viewing.
  2. Adaptive Error Messaging:
    • Within the same location, a “here” link allows for easy navigation to resolve the conflict.
    • In a different location, the message specifies the conflicting product but omits the navigation link for clarity.
  3. Products Monitored for Conflicts:
    • Funnels, Websites, Stores, Blogs, Webinars, WordPress, Client Portals, and Branded Domains are all included.
    • Note: Email domains do not conflict with any other product type.

Domain Connect Conflict Detection

By implementing this safeguard, we continue to support your operations and smooth domain management, minimizing interruptions and enhancing clarity.
