New Product Update – Invoices: Revamped Tax UI
We’re excited to share the latest updates to our invoice system, aimed at improving your user experience and enhancing clarity. This update focuses on the display and breakdown of taxes on invoices.
What’s Changed?
Comprehensive Tax Column
- New Tax Column: We’ve moved away from displaying taxes in-line for each item, which often resulted in a cluttered UI. Now, a new column shows the cumulative total of all taxes summed up.
- Tooltip for Detailed Tax Info: Hovering over any invoice item will display a tooltip with details of all taxes applied, offering greater transparency and visibility.
Order Summary Breakdown
- Detailed Tax Breakdown: The Order Summary now includes a detailed breakdown of taxes and their calculations, so you can see exactly how each tax amount was derived.
Mobile View Enhancements
- Clutter-Free Tax Display: In the mobile view, we’ve streamlined the tax display into a single line showing total tax. This is in addition to the detailed breakdown available in the order summary for mobile users.
Scope of the Release
These changes have been implemented in:
- Invoice Builder
- Invoice Template Builder
- Invoice Preview Link (Live Link) – applicable to both desktop and mobile views.
Why It Matters
Improved User Interface
The new UI offers a cleaner and more organized presentation, reducing clutter and making it easier to comprehend invoice details.
Better Visibility for End Customers
Customers can now see a clear and detailed breakdown of taxes, which enhances transparency and trust.
Mobile-Friendly Design
The responsive design ensures that the new tax breakdowns and displays are just as effective and clear on mobile devices as they are on desktops.
Note: This new UI is applied to already created invoices too.
Where to Find the Changes
- Navigate to Payments -> Invoices.
- You can either create a new invoice or edit an existing one to see the newly introduced tax column.
- You can also open the preview of the created invoice to see the revamped tax UI.
