Introducing the New Processing Charge Option
We’re excited to announce a new feature that allows businesses to pass on processing charges, miscellaneous charges, or additional fees directly to end customers. This can now be easily configured within the payment settings, offering both flexibility and transparency for various transactions.
What’s New?
- Processing Charge Setting: A new option is available under Payments Settings, enabling businesses to pass additional fees to customers.
- Customizable Fees: Define the fee percentage and customize the label to be shown to customers.
- Selective Application: Apply the fee to Invoices, Funnels, Payment Links, Forms, and Surveys using checkboxes.
- Accurate Calculations: The fee is calculated based on the formula (Subtotal – Discounts + Taxes), ensuring it reflects the actual transacted amount.
User Experience
- Visible Fees: End customers will see the fee as a distinct line item during checkout, on payment (invoices), and on transaction receipts.
- Detailed Exports: Fees appear in Transactions & Orders export with labels for easy reference.
Important Considerations
- Non-Retroactive Changes: Invoices and orders already issued remain unaffected by any changes to settings.
- PayPal and Custom Providers Only: Currently, this feature applies to invoices checked out via PayPal and custom payment providers.
- Mobile App Compatibility: Charges via invoices on mobile will be coming soon.
How to Access
- Navigate to Payments > Settings > Miscellaneous Charges > Processing Charges to configure this feature.
- Available across Funnels, Forms, Surveys, Payment Links, Invoices & Estimates for easy integration into your payment processes.
What’s Next?
- Expanded Channel Support: We’ll soon include support for Ecommerce, Mobile POS, Calendars, and more.
- Channel-Specific Fees: Differentiate fees across various channels like Funnels vs. Invoices.
- Provider-Specific Fees: Customize fees for different payment processors like Stripe, PayPal, NMI, etc.
- Comprehensive Reporting: Enhanced reporting and filtering for fees collected will be introduced.
