The latest update to our outbound calling system is set to revolutionize the way you experience dialing numbers. If you’ve ever been frustrated by calls that seem to ring but suddenly disconnect, this enhancement is for you. Here’s a closer look at what’s changed and why you’ll appreciate it.
Previously, when dialing a number that never reached the recipient’s carrier, the system would play the normal ringback tone immediately. This often led to abrupt disconnections that mimicked a ringing call suddenly failing, causing unnecessary confusion and wasted time.
To combat the phantom ringing issue, we’ve introduced a short connecting tone that plays while we’re still attempting to reach the carrier. This ensures that you know exactly when the call is in the connection stage.

The familiar ringback tone now starts only after the recipient’s carrier confirms that the destination device is actually ringing. This provides a more precise and reliable call connection experience.
If the carrier can’t be reached for any reason, the call will now end cleanly after the connecting tone—eliminating the illusion of a call that seemed to be ringing.
