Smarter Auto-Sizing for Images and Galleries
We're excited to share some new updates to our Image and Photo Video Gallery components that make auto-sizing easier and more intuitive.
- True “Auto” Support: Now, elements can size themselves automatically, eliminating the need for manual input. Enjoy a hassle-free experience with smart auto-sizing.
- One-Click Toggle: Easily switch between auto and fixed sizing, such as pixels (px) or percentage (%). Adjust settings quickly with just a click.
- Clear Visuals: Visual inputs clearly indicate when “auto” is active, providing better clarity and precision in your design work.
Our latest enhancements ensure a smoother experience when working with sizes:
- Starts at 100: Switching to a fixed unit automatically fills in 100, so you're never left with an empty field. This change helps in maintaining a seamless design process.
- No Empty Fields: Empty values are now blocked, preventing broken or invisible layouts. This measure ensures consistent visibility and functionality.
- Backwards-Friendly: Older components with no size data will appear as empty but will receive smart defaults upon editing, allowing for easy updates without complication.
Cleaner, More Consistent Controls
Experience a more streamlined approach to managing image and gallery sizes:
- Auto Labeling: When auto-sizing is activated, the input clearly reflects “auto” for a straightforward user experience.
- Fewer Distractions: Size dropdowns now appear only when necessary, reducing on-screen clutter.
- Same Logic Everywhere: Width and height behave consistently across all instances, simplifying your workflow across different projects.
Why This Matters
These enhancements are designed to benefit you by:
- Reducing the guesswork involved in determining how sizes will behave.
- Allowing faster and more confident switching between size options.
- Ensuring that your galleries look professional and are polished.
- Keeping layouts functional and attractive across all screen sizes.
- Preventing broken or unpredictable results from empty or incorrect input.
Quick Notes
- Switching from “auto” to a different unit automatically sets the size to 100 by default.
- Empty inputs are no longer permitted; they will automatically revert to auto-sizing, ensuring your layouts remain consistent.
