Clearer Ad Source Labels for Number Pool Calls

Number pool call tracking now identifies more paid ad platforms and AI referrals, with improved source labels in call reports and call details.

Number pool call tracking now shows more accurate source labels in call reports and call details. Facebook ad calls that previously appeared as “Facebook” or “Direct” now show as “Facebook Paid,” making paid traffic easier to identify.

What changed

  • More ad platforms identified: Calls from TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft (Bing), and Google ads clicked within apps are now labeled by platform.
  • Paid traffic labels for tagged links: When an ad link includes utm_medium=cpc, the source shows the platform name plus “Paid,” such as “Bing Paid.”
  • AI referral sources: Visits from ChatGPT and similar tools appear as their own source.

What to know

Your number pool tracking script updates automatically, with no setup required. These changes apply only to new calls. Past calls retain their existing source labels.

Some calls will still appear as “Direct” when the visitor’s browser hides the referral source and the link has no ad tracking code.

If a link contains multiple ad tracking codes, the first match determines the source. Google is checked first, followed by Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
