Opportunity Forecasting
SMBcrm now includes a Forecast tab inside Opportunities, giving teams a clearer view of projected revenue without relying on spreadsheets. The update adds weighted revenue forecasting, expected close dates, timeline views, and risk insights to support better pipeline management within CRM & Sales.
What Changed
The Forecast tab adds several new ways to review and manage pipeline performance:
- Forecast revenue using expected revenue weighted by probability
- Track an Expected Close Date for each opportunity
- Review a summary dashboard with:
- Max potential revenue
- Expected revenue
- Won revenue
- Open opportunities
- Use a forecast timeline view by week, month, or quarter
- Drill into the opportunities behind each metric and edit them directly
- Identify data quality issues such as:
- Missing close dates
- Missing opportunity values
- Overdue deals
- Review risk levels based on deal slippage
- Set custom risk thresholds
- Filter and group opportunities by fields like owner, status, and close date


How It Works
To use forecasting, go to Opportunities → Forecast. The source release states that this feature can be enabled from Account > Labs.
From there, you can:
- Use the summary view to understand overall pipeline health
- Switch to the forecast timeline to track deals over time
- Change the time range by week, month, or quarter
- Apply filters to segment your pipeline data
- Click metrics such as missing close dates to drill into affected opportunities
- Drag and drop opportunities to update their close date in the timeline view
- Adjust risk settings to match your sales cycle

- Estimate what may close and when

Notes

- Opportunities are assigned the highest risk level they qualify for
- Deals without close dates are excluded from forecast calculations
