A discounted job still needs someone to do it. Before writing your Black Friday campaign, check which services you can deliver, when your team has room, and what each booking will contribute after costs.
Black Friday falls on November 27, 2026. Thanksgiving is November 26 on the U.S. Office of Personnel Management calendar; LEGO’s official Black Friday page also confirms November 27 as Black Friday and November 30 as Cyber Monday.
For a service business, that weekend can be a booking window for work delivered later. Adapt these draft examples to your service, availability, and terms before sending. They do not guarantee bookings.
Choose an offer your team can fulfill
Start with one service and one audience. These are illustrative options:
| Offer | Suitable audience | Terms to settle first |
|---|---|---|
| Seasonal maintenance visit | Eligible customers whose service is due | Equipment covered, service area, included labor, parts exclusions |
| Off-peak cleaning package | Customers who can book quieter weekdays | Number and length of visits, property limits, scheduling window |
| Service plus a small add-on | Prospects considering a specific job | Base scope, add-on cost, exclusions, staff time required |
Avoid discounting work that already fills your calendar at full price. A modest add-on may cost less than a percentage discount, but calculate its materials and labor before choosing it.
Suppose, purely for planning, a maintenance visit normally costs $180. A $150 offer with $95 in direct labor, travel, materials, and payment costs leaves $55 toward overhead and profit. Twelve completed visits would contribute $660 before campaign costs and overhead. This is illustrative arithmetic, not a revenue forecast; cancellations, overruns, and jobs displaced from full-price bookings can change the result.
If you have 24 available technician-hours and each visit takes two hours including travel, twelve is the theoretical maximum. Leave time for delays and existing customers before setting a lower promotional cap. Publish a slot count only when it reflects real, current availability.
Write down the price, taxes or additional charges, eligibility, service area, included work, exclusions, booking deadline with time zone, service dates, deposit, and cancellation/refund terms. Keep the booking deadline distinct from the date the work must happen. Do not extend a supposedly final deadline just to repeat the same urgency.
Check permission before building the audience
An old customer list is not automatically ready for a promotion. Check how each address or number was collected, what the person agreed to receive, and whether they have opted out. Keep email and SMS permissions separate.
For U.S. commercial email, the FTC’s CAN-SPAM guide requires accurate sender details and subject lines, clear advertising identification, a valid postal address, and an easy opt-out. Honor email opt-outs within ten business days and keep the mechanism working for at least 30 days after sending. Operationally, suppress recipients as soon as they unsubscribe.
For promotional SMS, use documented written permission covering your business and marketing texts. The FCC’s rules require prior express written consent for covered automated telemarketing calls and texts. Provider requirements can be broader: Twilio’s messaging policy requires written consent for promotional messages, sender identification, and accessible opt-outs. A past purchase or A2P registration does not replace recipient consent.
Include “Reply STOP to unsubscribe” in promotional texts and monitor other clear requests to stop. Suppress texts immediately after a general opt-out, including appointment texts; use another authorized channel unless the recipient opts back in. A permitted opt-out confirmation is the exception. Check applicable state rules, recipient-local sending hours, and your provider’s requirements before launch.
Create separate eligible groups for maintenance due, an open estimate, or interest in the advertised package. Exclude unsubscribed contacts, invalid destinations, people outside the service area, existing bookings for the offer, and customers whose unresolved complaint needs personal attention. Deduplicate email addresses and phone numbers before enrollment.
Set a short campaign calendar
Use this as a proposed schedule, adjusted to your actual offer:
- November 9–13: Confirm costs, staffing, terms, and permission records.
- November 16–20: Build the audience, booking page, and messages. Preview with internal records; check exclusions and opt-out handling.
- November 23: Launch to the eligible audience if your offer opens that day.
- November 27: Send one useful reminder to eligible contacts who have not booked or entered a staff conversation.
- November 30: Send a final-date message only if this is the deadline you originally advertised.
- December 1: Close the offer, remove queued promotional messages, and reconcile bookings with staff capacity.
Choose a primary channel for each contact. Permission for both channels is not a reason to send the same reminder twice.
Adapt these email and SMS templates
Replace every bracketed placeholder before use. Use your actual brand and sender address, readable links, and a monitored reply channel. [TERMS LINK] should show the full offer; put material exclusions in the message too. SMS drafts may span multiple billable segments after personalization, so check the final length and cost.

Connect messages to staff and bookings in SMBcrm
SMBcrm’s communication tools include email campaigns, two-way SMS, and a shared inbox with conversation assignment. Its workflow automation supports conditions, delays, and contact-based triggers; booking tools support appointments and reminders.
Configure the campaign deliberately:
- Give eligible contacts a campaign tag after checking permission and offer fit. Use one enrollment route and disable repeat entry for this promotion.
- Before every promotional send, check channel permission, booking status, staff-conversation status, and the offer deadline. Remove booked or opted-out contacts from remaining promotion steps.
- Assign replies to a named staff member. Have that person confirm scope, service area, availability, and price before promising a slot.
- Route confirmed bookings to the confirmation process. Check existing calendar notifications so the campaign does not send duplicate confirmations.
- Use internal test records to inspect each branch and message before activating anything for customers.
These are configuration requirements to verify in your account, not protections that appear merely by pasting a template. Budget for email and SMS usage, applicable carrier charges, and staff reply time.
Measure completed work after the offer closes
Record eligible recipients, deliveries, opt-outs, replies, confirmed bookings, cancellations, completed jobs, and collected revenue. Use distinct campaign links or a campaign field to help identify the source, then reconcile it with actual appointments.
Report booking rate with its denominator, such as confirmed bookings divided by unique delivered recipients. Separate deposits from completed-job revenue. Use revenue after discounts and refunds, then subtract service delivery costs, messaging, advertising, and campaign labor to estimate contribution. A busy calendar can still contain work that leaves too little to cover overhead.
