Delete Field Options for Custom Objects and Companies

You can delete field options for custom objects and companies while preserving values on existing records and keeping current filters and workflows intact.

You can now delete options from dropdown, multi-select, radio, and checkbox fields for custom objects and companies. Contact and opportunity fields already support this capability.

Unused options are deleted permanently. If an option is in use, its value remains on existing records, but it can no longer be selected for new records, filters, or workflow conditions. Existing filters, Smart Lists, and workflows continue to work.

To delete an option, go to Settings → Custom Fields, open a custom object or company field, and select the option to delete. Review the affected-record count, if shown, before confirming.
