You can now build, edit, and test workflow automations without leaving the AI Builder chat. After AI Builder builds or edits a workflow, its reply includes a Test workflow button.
What the Test Shows
During a test, the canvas displays each step’s status: Running, Success, Action skipped, or End. The chat also lists the run step by step, marking each step that ran.
When the run ends, AI Builder summarizes which steps ran, which were skipped, and whether there were errors or missing data. Click any step on the canvas to inspect its Input and Output.
How to Test a Workflow
- Open Labs and enable The New Test Workflow.
- Go to Automation > Workflows and open a workflow.
- Open AI Builder and describe the workflow or change you want.
- When AI Builder finishes, click Test workflow in its reply.
- Choose Enroll a contact or Test using events, select the contact, and review the contact data before starting.
- Click Start test run.
- Review the summary and inspect individual steps on the canvas.
- Save and publish your workflow when ready.
If you make changes, click Run another test to test again.
Before You Start
Tests execute real actions: tags are added, notes are written, and messages are sent. Use your own contact when you do not want to reach a customer.
Some actions are skipped during testing. The canvas and summary identify those steps. Testing is optional, so you can still save and publish without running a test.
