AI Agent Actions in AI Features and Automation have been optimized to reduce the cost of each agent run. Internal testing shows executions are now 40 to 50 percent cheaper, with no change to behavior, output quality, or setup.
What changed
- Up to 50 percent lower cost per AI Agent execution.
- Prompt caching now reuses repeated context across agent steps instead of resending it on every call.
- System and tool prompts have been tightened to reduce token usage on each run.
- Supporting calls for summarization, structured output, and memory generation now use lighter models, while core reasoning stays unchanged.
- Each execution consumes fewer tokens overall, in addition to per-call savings.
Why it matters
Lower execution costs make AI Agent Actions more practical in more workflows, especially for long conversations, multi-tool agents, and high-volume automations. This helps teams choose an AI agent when it fits the use case, instead of avoiding it because of run cost.
How to use it
There is nothing to enable. These optimizations are already live and apply automatically to all new and existing AI Agent Actions.
