Managed Agents can now use Computer to work across websites, external applications, and files from a single conversation. Each agent has a dedicated computer environment, with controls for reviewing sensitive actions and taking over browser tasks.
What Computer Can Do
- Browser automation: Research websites, interact with web applications, click buttons, fill out forms, and complete multi-step tasks. Watch browser activity in real time and take control when needed.
- File creation and management: Create, read, edit, and export documents, spreadsheets, reports, and other files. A persistent workspace lets agents reuse files across conversations.
- Code execution: Run Python scripts and terminal commands to process datasets, perform calculations, and combine browser, file, and code tasks.
- Parallel browser conversations: Run 8 to 10 browser chats in parallel on one agent, with each conversation using its own browser tab.
Practical uses include comparing competitor pricing in a spreadsheet, researching potential customers, generating business documents, and analyzing datasets.
Approval Controls and Browser Visibility
Website credentials are securely stored. Agents request approval for sensitive actions such as payments, sending messages, submitting forms, and deleting files. Payments and file deletions always require user approval.
Review pending requests in Waiting on You. The redesigned Computer interface improves navigation and visibility into browser activity, while the updated Take Control experience makes it easier to switch between agent automation and manual control. Performance and concurrency improvements also make browser interactions faster and smoother.
How to Enable Computer
- Navigate to AI Agents → Agent Studio → Managed Agents.
- Open an existing agent or create one.
- Under Capabilities, enable Computer.
- Configure your Ask Before approval preferences.
- Open the agent’s chat and describe the task.
For example: “Research competitor pricing from their websites, compare their offerings, and create a spreadsheet with the results.”
Current Execution Support
Computer currently supports chat-based and manual executions. Automation-triggered runs are not supported.
