Community admins now have a way to hold posts and comments for review before they appear in the community feed. In SMBcrm Memberships & Education, flagged keyword rules help teams keep spam, scams, and rule-breaking content out of member-facing discussions.
What Changed
Admins can define words, phrases, or domains they do not want posted in a community. When a member-generated post or comment matches a flagged keyword, SMBcrm holds it back from the feed and sends it to admins for review.
Keyword matching is case-insensitive. Phrases are recommended over single words for better precision. A suggested starter pack of common spam and scam phrases is included, and admins can use the “Try your rules” tool to test sample text before rules affect live submissions.
Review Flagged Content
Flagged content appears in the Needs review tab. Admins can see which keyword triggered the flag, preview the full post, and choose to Approve & publish or Remove it.
Held content remains hidden from the community until approved. Authors can still see their own pending post on their timeline with an “In review” status, so they know it has not disappeared.
Content from admins and owners is never held for review. Moderation rules apply only to member-generated content.
Manage Member Reports
Posts and comments reported by members now appear in a separate Reported by members tab. Admins can see who reported the content, review the full thread, and choose to Keep or Remove it.
Admin Notifications
Admins are notified by email, in-app, and push alerts when content is flagged, helping teams review issues without constantly checking the moderation screen.
Search Improvements
Post and comment search has also been improved. Search now handles typos, different phrasing, synonyms, and non-English or accented text. Results rank by relevance instead of newest-first, so members can find better matches more easily.
How It Works
- Go to Settings > Content Moderation.
- In the Keywords tab, add flagged words or phrases, or choose Add starter pack to load common spam phrases.
- Optionally, use the “Try your rules” tool to test sample text against your keywords.
- When a matching post or comment is submitted, it is held and appears in the Needs review tab.
- Review the content, then choose Approve & publish or Remove.
- Review member-reported content separately under Reported by members.
Why It Matters
As communities grow, reviewing every post manually becomes difficult. Content moderation gives admins a practical way to enforce guidelines before problematic content reaches the feed.
