The n8n Workflow Importer lets you upload an exported workflow JSON file or paste its contents into Agent Studio. AI analyzes the workflow and converts it into a Managed Agent, helping you reuse existing automations without rebuilding every step manually.
What gets converted
The importer maps workflow components to supported agent capabilities:
- Triggers: Webhooks, schedules, forms, appointments, and other events map to supported SMBcrm triggers.
- Logic and conditions: IF/Switch nodes become agent decision rules, while Wait nodes become scheduled follow-ups.
- AI steps: Existing AI nodes become agent reasoning and instructions.
- Apps and APIs: Integrations map to Marketplace connections, CRM actions, or API calls.
Imported agents are organized in an Imported from n8n folder.
Review the conversion before publishing
The import review labels steps as Carried Over, Adapted, or Not Possible, explaining what changed and identifying required manual configuration. Unsupported steps are highlighted rather than silently skipped.
Before publishing, connect required apps, configure custom values, and review webhook URLs, external IDs, and knowledge base settings. Existing n8n credentials and API keys are never imported, and external IDs and configuration values are flagged for verification.
How to import a workflow
- Go to AI Agents → Agent Studio.
- Select Import from → n8n (Beta).
- Upload your n8n workflow JSON file or paste the JSON directly.
- Review the converted workflow and complete the required setup.
- Select Save as draft or Create & publish.
No agent is created until you explicitly save or publish. You can continue configuring the agent using the AI Builder.
