Slack Integration Moves to Marketplace Architecture
SMBcrm is moving the Slack integration to a Marketplace architecture. This changes how Slack accounts are connected and managed behind the scenes, while keeping the existing user experience intact.
What changed
The updated integration uses Marketplace authentication flows for Slack connections. This improves credential handling and account security, and provides a scalable foundation for future Slack enhancements.
For existing Slack users, current connections continue to work without reconfiguring the setup. Older connections remain on the existing architecture for now, and the source notes that future migration is expected to happen without user action once the feature is out of labs.

How Slack connections work
- New Slack connections use the Marketplace architecture.
- Existing Slack workflows continue to work as before.
- Backward compatibility is maintained for current workflows.
- Existing Slack users are expected to be automatically migrated to the Marketplace-based integration once the feature is out of labs.

Early access
Users can enable this update from account labs for early access.
Why it matters
- Stronger security and authentication controls
- Improved reliability and maintainability
- A scalable foundation for future Slack features
