Conversation AI Response Style Settings
Conversation AI now includes response style settings that let you control how long and detailed bot replies should be. You can choose from Concise, Balanced, or Detailed based on how you want your bot to respond in customer conversations.
This update applies at the bot level and influences how AI responses are generated in Auto-Pilot mode. You can learn more about related AI features and communication tools.
What Changed
You can now:
- Turn response style settings on or off
- Choose one of three response styles:
- Concise for short replies of about 30 words
- Balanced for moderate detail of about 80 words
- Detailed for more complete replies of up to 200 words
- Apply the setting at the bot level
- Influence how replies are generated in Auto-Pilot mode
If this setting is turned off, the bot will continue responding as it does today.
How to Use It
- Go to Conversation AI and open Bot Settings
- Scroll to Response Settings
- Turn on Response Style Settings
- Select Concise, Balanced, or Detailed
- Click Save
Important Notes
- Response style is a guiding instruction, not a strict word cap
- Reply length may vary based on the conversation and the amount of information needed
- Avoid adding conflicting length instructions in your custom prompt, such as requiring a fixed word count
- If multiple length instructions are used, prompt-level instructions may override or conflict with the selected style
Why It Matters
This gives you more control over reply depth without changing your prompts. It can also help create more natural conversations and better match response length to the context of each interaction.
