Sort Custom Object List Views by Custom Fields
You can now sort custom object list views by custom fields, not just created or updated dates. This update helps you organize and prioritize records using the data that matters most to your team.
For teams using CRM and contact management tools, this can make large record lists easier to scan and manage. It pairs well with automation workflows that trigger based on field values.
What Changed
- Sort custom object list views by custom fields
- Sort from the Sort dropdown or by clicking a column header
- Toggle between ascending and descending order
How to Use It
Sort from a column header
Click a custom field column header to sort the list. Click it again to reverse the sort order.

Sort from the Sort menu
Open List View, click Sort, choose a custom field, and then select ascending or descending order.
This is useful when the field you want to sort by is not currently shown in the list view.

Why It Matters
- Faster navigation in large datasets
- Easier prioritization for values like price, renewal date, status, or priority
- Less manual scanning and filtering
Notes
Sorting is not supported for these field types:
- Dropdown (Multiple)
- Checkbox
- Textbox List
